This is a dish of braised fatty pork belly in fermented soy bean sauce with boldĀ  sweet-salty, savoury flavours.

One of the many reasons that babi pongteh is so satisfying is the tenderness and juiciness of the meat. It is usually prepared with fatty or marbled cuts of meat. Expect a strong flavour of spices like cinnamon bark and star anise.

This is pork stew like no other and is a true taste of nonya and Peranakan cuisine.
